Namibia – My Land, My Country

Namibia – My Land, My Country

There is a story behind everything.  How a picture got on a wall.  How a scar on your fate or sometimes the stories are simple.  It’s  very shocking sometimes to think our country with 2 million or more people in it can be so beautiful.  Fresh from the rich soils to a breathtaking nature, the nature we have pride in.Think of the beautiful sunsets or the horizon of our country.  I’m sure if you had a big imaginative world like mine then it will be straight from a fairytale. The feeling of going out on the hike of the table mountain, the feel of your feet in the sand on the beach, the walk in the dunes in Sossusvlei or getting to learn names of different plants in Waterberg is exhilarating. Think of the resorts and other beautiful places a person  will availingly spend thousands of dollars just to visit it, think of our skin colors that go perfectly with our country, the dark and rich texture that is flawless and inspiring.  A lot of artists spend nights and days trying to paint and get inspiration from Namibia, our pride and joy. Think of all the smiles that grace your lips automatically once you take a look around you and realize how wonderful it is to be born in this country.  I live with pride and joy knowing our country, that we fought for and it is breathtaking and lavish. Think of our cultures, the excitement that come along when different traditional groups perform or walk around in town with their cultural garments. Think of all the talents showcased each year from dancing, singing, writing, acting, painting saving the world, saving the nature/animals and inspiring leaders all ready to thrive for a better future for our country. Think of the wildlife and nature. For free times I explore and observe the wild, from small little things to big for they can make you awestruck the feeling of adventurous and thrilling vibe and make you feel connected with it. One’s  life can never be the same once you realize how truly beautiful it feels to be part of this beautiful country and I bet the feeling has nothing to compare to. Think of the Kavango or Zambezi  rivers that flow on forever or the water fall and lakes.  It feels like a bird flying for the first time or  a baby taking it’s first  steps and I’m far from exaggerating, because I’m just a proud Namibian. Think of all the articles you have read from the Namibian or Sun Or New Era and any newspaper for that matter and just feel the emotion or love coming from them, the way they write or what words to write precisely is just inspiring. The secret of change is to focus all your energy, not fighting the old but on building the new. You have to take risks , dream big, live big, make impossible things happen and understand the miracle  of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen. The greatest luxury is being free, to live your wildest dream. We should accept finite disappointment, but never lose indefinite hope.  It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but it is within us, be a proud Namibian and live life to the fullest.  Enjoy being born in our country and not dwell in desires and concentrate on what we have.
