What inspire me in Namibia is the people of this country. Every day we meet people or read in newspapers and social media platforms about people extending a helping hand to others who are in need. This sign of love and care can help to make a significant change in a person’s life. After all it is not about how much you give but a small act of kindness goes a long way. Through encouragement and support from fellow Namibians, it can help us see the best in ourselves in whatever situation we may find ourselves. It is through the spirit of “Ubuntu” that Namibia has a prevailing peace and political stable environment, the peace which makes Namibia a favoured destination by both investors and tourists/visitors alike. And shows that it is entirely up to us to make the world a better place.
Think about our Paralympic athletes for instance, their outstanding achievements shows us that there is ability in disability. In the same vein, a significant inspiration come in the form of Johanna Amunjela a young Namibian scientist who has vowed to find a cure for cancer – one of the biggest killer diseases in the world. This shows that no dreams are unattainable. One just need to reach for the stars –be ambitious, aim high, and never surrender. Thus, one can accomplish anything you have set your mind to.
The way the Ovahimba people have preserved their culture for ages is also another inspiration. While it keeps one to be proud of who you are and where you come from, it also teaches us to care and preserve all the treasures our country has to offer for the sake of the future generations. we might have beautiful sunsets, forests, landscapes, wildlife and so forth, but if we do not preserve and safeguard them then the next generations will have nothing left for them.
